Because there is only one accessory ledge you cannot use the cutting board on top of the colander.
How much counter space do you recommend on each side of this?

The counter space will vary depending on your faucet, plumbing requirements, cabinet drawers and doors, and personal preference. Generally, customers will choose to have 1.5"-3" in front of the sink and 3"-4" behind the sink. We recommend discussing the installation with your contractor to ensure you have adequate space.
